Are you ready to head back to Ferelden for the adventures of Dragon Age II? Too bad, because, instead of letting you roam the fields and cities of Ferelden, the game leaves you to get acquainted with the city of Kirkwall and a number of similar-looking caves. This may not start out as a big deal, but at about halfway through the game, it gets really annoying seeing the same cave for the 20th time. Sadly, the environments are not the only problem here; the story is actually not even half as good as Dragon Age: Origins. Dragon Age II makes you feel less like you’re actively changing the world and more like you’re just reacting to the actions of others. Luckily, the game is totally saved by the companions, each having great personal stories that put the game’s main plot to shame. These wonderful companions coupled with the sleek, new fighting animations make this game really fun. Just be sure not to expect much out of the story.

I have to agree. I played it on PC, and in Russian, and felt very much the same way. I wanted to go explore like I did in Orgins, but was limited to the same place, over and over again. I got bored quick because I felt like I had no control, it was just like the old RPG's where you had no control, just linear.

I felt the same! I got seriously bored in the second act because I just got sick of how linear it was. I really hope they fix that in the third game because I barely went back to finish this because it dragged so much.
