The Amazing Spider-Man

I want to say that The Amazing Spider-Man is unlike any Marvel movie game I’ve played before, but after some time, I have to say that it’s pretty much just Captain America with more polish. That means ANOTHER ARKHAM ASYLUM RIP-OFF. Seriously, that is the only thing that comes to mind while playing, as the combat works in the exact same way. There are even stealth sections which rely on the same type of Silent Predator gameplay Arkham Asylum is known for. This isn’t really a bad thing, though, because it is fun, but it’s slightly disappointing that a Spider-Man game barely feels like a Spider-Man game at all. Free roaming can be fun, but web swinging has had an overhaul from the last gen games and has really lost the fluid feel it used to have. Despite these drawbacks, the game does have some really top-notch, cinematic, action-packed fights, and the story is actually a pretty decent companion to the film. As long as you aren’t sick of crawling through vents or stealth, Batman-like gameplay, then you should have a blast.
