I’ve been sitting on this review for a couple of years. I haven’t been able to make up my mind as to whether I like it or not, but I finally did. I love to play this game. It is very unique, pretty to look at, and fun. Your little “grimp” can only jump and grip onto plants (grimp = grip + jump). After you have grabbed something, you can use a silk-like thread to swing around and launch yourself to the next place. You have a time limit that can be replenished by collecting crystals throughout the artistically designed levels (gardens). With local-co-op, online stats, and a half-dozen levels, it’s a solid game… but there is a deal-breaker. To play new gardens, you have to have a certain amount of spectra (a collectible). You can’t just search the level until you find all five, though. The first time you explore a garden, you can only collect one, the second time only two, and so on until you have played through every garden five times. So while I love PixelJunk Eden, I can’t recommend it. It takes too long to find the spectra just to be kicked out to find them again, and again, and again. It’s the only reason why I never finished it.

That does sound like a quick way to ruin a perfectly good game.
