I’m going to skip the obvious pun, but I will at least say that Awesomenauts is Prettygoodnauts. Like Monday Night Combat before it, this is an online multiplayer game where you must work closely with your team to protect your drones and take out the opposition’s turrets and home base. Here, however, the 2D perspective makes the game more approachable and cuts down on the number of ways to exploit and ruin it. Of course, 2D gameplay also means there are fewer strategies involved. I fear Awesomenauts will grow stale quicker than Monday Night Combat did because of that. For the time being, though, I’m having a lot of fun. The characters are great, and the skills they offer are quite diverse, making it hard to label any one as the clear winner. In fact, I frequently choose “random” at the character select screen, because I know I can’t go wrong. The game puts a limit on how many players can be the same character and even replaces “rage quitters” with AI bots, so you’re never left at a disadvantage. How awesome is that? Oops. Couldn’t resist. But it’s nice to be treated fairly for once.

I got this game for free on PS+, I guess I ought to play it now...so many games so little time before people stop playing and the servers shut down due to lack of interest.

Yeah, you have to jump into these kind of games early on, because the community could very well die out, or worse, get overrun by a bunch of idiot players trying to turn it into a Call of Duty deathmatch.

Seems like PS+ had a really good week, though. Didn't you also get Trine 2 for free? I admit, when PS+ first started, I laughed at the idea (pay money to get random games you may or may not already have!), but the deals lately have been pretty good. Much better than the Xbox's 30% off DLC nobody wants.

I should make a list of the games I've gotten through PS+. Many have been laughable. There are quite a few I will never play, but I have been extremely pleased lately. It's getting better and better. I am a little worried though that they are going to try and change it to more of a discount program in the future and offer less free games.

To be honest, the only thing I've been disappointed in is that if I already paid full price for a game and then it's the free game on PS+, I just have to suck it up. It's happened maybe 5-6 times since it started two years ago this June. So, it's really not that bad.

Plus they do offer a lot of discounts, full-game trials, DLC, and other perks that aren't "free game" related. Avatars, themes, cloud storage of save files, Qore episodes(it's basically a preview of the next big PS3 games) beta testing ... I've paid $100 for it twice, and because of the outage and some initial promotion, it won't run out until December this year, at which point I'll likely subscribe to it again. PS+ is the reason I put a 750GB HDD in my PS3, it's about half full.

You should specify - $50 each time. I didn't renew my subscription because the only part of the deal that isn't a "rental" is the avatars, themes and the games you pay for. I like to have a collection that is permanent. It was sad to see all my games disappear, and I didn't want to see that happen again. haha

    Personal preference.

You know what, I was thinking it was $100 a year. It renewed automatically because I wasn't paying attention last time. So that's basically $4 a month. It's a great deal. That being said, I'd prefer if they let me choose one game every month rather than giving 4 I won't play and 1-2 I will. Most of the minis are trash and I'm not going to play PS1 games that I never played on original release. It is way too painful. It's rare that a month goes by where I feel like my $4 was ill spent...
