Deadlight

Deadlight is a side-scrolling platformer that places you in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. The game has a sort of shadowy look to it (probably due to the fact that the zombies are called “shadows”), which gives it a spooky feel very much like Limbo. The controls, however, really leave something to be desired. Platforming and problem-solving are the main focus of the game, but jumping and climbing do not work well at all and just manage to feel cumbersome. This wouldn’t be much of a problem if it wasn’t for the split-second timing needed to solve most of the puzzles or the chase sequences which show off just how bad the controls are. Now the story is so-so and plays out like some sort of C-quality horror movie complete with terrible voice acting (and it’s not even funny). The game does have some really cool moments, though, and the environments manage to be pretty interesting throughout, but the controls are just too maddening to recommend playing to those points. Save yourself some frustration and just skip it.
